The hot and scorching sun in summer is the number one enemy of the skin. Choosing a good umbrella can greatly reduce the lethality of the sun. However, in the face of uneven quality umbrellas on the market, how to choose a real one? “Umbrella”, but there is a trick. From a professional point of view, what people often call “sun umbrellas and sun umbrellas” are actually UV-resistant umbrellas. He Lingjun, secretary-general of the Umbrella Professional Committee of the China Daily-use Sundries Industry Association, told the reporter of “Life Times” that you should pay attention to this kind of umbrella. The following three aspects.
First, look at the label. It mainly depends on the protection index, namely the UPF and UVA values. Only when the UPF is greater than 40 and the UVA transmittance is less than 5%, can it be called an anti-ultraviolet product. The higher the UPF value, the better its anti-ultraviolet performance. Generally, most of the labels on the market are “UPF50+”, and its protection function is sufficient. Second, look at the color. In the case of the same fabric, the dark umbrella has a better UV protection effect. The biggest difference between parasols and other umbrellas is that they have an anti-ultraviolet coating to prevent the penetration of ultraviolet rays. Third, look at the fabric. The fabric with thicker umbrella surface and tighter fabric has better UV resistance. Compared with cotton, silk, nylon and other surface materials, polyester is more sun-proof. If you want to know the sun protection effect of a parasol, you might as well try it out in the sun. Umbrellas with deeper shadows and lower light transmittance have the best sun protection effect.
When buying a parasol, be sure to choose branded products. Generally, regular manufacturers will use brand logos in multiple places, such as the seams of umbrella surfaces. In addition, rainwater will corrode the anti-ultraviolet coating, so it is best to use sunshades and umbrellas separately. If the umbrella surface is dirty, it can be rinsed with water or rubbed gently with your hands, otherwise it will affect the effect.
